Barack Obama gobbles mouse

Sen. Barack Obama grabbed a mouse by the tail and gobbled it down before a crowd of people -- a chocolate mouse that is.

The candy mice are the specialty of L.A. Burdick chocolates of Walpole, New Hampshire.

And in New Hampshire over the weekend, Gov. Deval Patrick led a team of volunteers on a canvass of neighborhoods for Sen. Obama.

Patrick endorses Obama before crowd of 9,500

A crowd of 9,500 cheered on as Gov. Deval Patrick publicly endorsed Barack Obama on Boston Common Tuesday.

Patrick said of Obama in his introduction:

For once, I want a campaign that’s not about the candidate, but about us.

Not about a resumé, but about character. Not about connections or convenience, but about conviction. Not about smearing the competition, but about lifting us all up. Not about the right and the left, but about right and wrong. Not about yesterday, but about tomorrow.

I don’t care whether the next president has experience in the White House. I care whether he understands life in your house.

I don’t care whether the next president has already met foreign heads of state. I care whether he knows something about how people live and think in distant cities and villages and can remember that our actions affect them, too.

I don’t care whether the next president is the first black president or the first woman president or the first whatever, to tell you the truth. I care that the next president has moral courage, a political backbone, the humility to admit what he doesn’t know, and the wisdom to learn from others.

In Iowa, the Obama campaign sent out mailers contrasting his position on Iran with that of Hillary Clinton.

Deval Patrick set to endorse Barack Obama

It was expected sooner or later, so it's no surprise that the Boston Herald is reporting that Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will endorse Barack Obama.

Patrick and Obama are friends with both having links to Chicago.

The endorsement is expected to help Obama raise money in the state, which traditionally gives millions to presidential candidates.

Nearly $1 million in a day

Urging supporters to make up a $2.1 million deficit in campaign funds behind Hillary Clinton, Obama has succeeding in raising nearly $1 million in the last day.

The campaign is asking for donations of $25, and first-time donors are allowed to send campaign messages urging others to contribute.

Barack could use the extra money to help pay for his new Obama campaign office in Carson City, Nevada.

Obama talks about foreign policy and how the administration convinced Democrats that the only way for them to appear patriotic and sound on defense was to talk, act and vote like Republicans on the Iraq War.
