Barack Obama Resume

To help address the continuing questions over Barack Obama's experience, I have compiled a concise, easy-to-read, one-page resume for the senator. I still have to make up a list of Barack's endorsements to use as references.

EDUCATION

Occidental College

Columbia University -- Bachelor of Arts (1983), Political Science with International Relations specialization.

Harvard University
-- Juris Doctor (1991), Magna cum Laude, first African American President of Harvard Law Review.


EXPERIENCE

2004 to Present

United States Senate -- U.S. Senator from Illinois. Veteran Affairs Committee member. Has championed legislation on redeployment of troops out of Iraq, increased government accountability, veteran's benefits and care, nuclear non-proliferation, energy independence and global warming action.


1996 to 2004

Illinois State Senate -- State Senator. Elected two terms. Among his accomplishments: state earned income tax credit, childhood education expansion, ethics and healthcare reform, gun control, and videotaping of capital case interrogations and confessions.


1993 to 2004

University of Chicago -- Lecturer of Constitutional Law at University of Chicago Law School.


1993 to 1996

Miner, Barnhill & Galland -- Civil Rights Attorney with Chicago law firm. Represented community organizations, discrimination claims and voting rights cases.


1985 to 1988

Developing Communities Project -- Community Organizer for church-based group in Chicago's South Side. Organized job training programs.


OTHER EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

1995 and 2006 -- Author of two best-selling books, Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope. The audio version of Dreams from My Father won the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album. Time columnist Joe Klein said the book "may be the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician."

1992 -- Chair of voter registration drive in Illinois that brought in 150,000 new voters and helped candidate Bill Clinton carry the state.

2004 -- Keynote speaker at Democratic National Convention.
