Barack Obama: "Rock Star" of NAACP Forum

The crowd at the NAACP Presidential Forum in Detroit greeted Sen. Barack Obama with thunderous applause both before and after his three minute speech covering topics from gun control to healthcare.

Both the Detroit Free-Press and MSNBC reported that Obama received extended standing ovations that were more enthusiastic than those for the other candidates.

The Detroit Free-Press called Obama the "rock star" of the event. Other media outlets even conceded that Obama "won" this forum contending, of course, that Clinton had better performances in previous match-ups.

Given the great importance of the black vote in the Democratic primary, none of the candidates appeared willing to concede a national event of America's most important civil rights organization.
