Democrats save big bucks for late surge

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the official group charged with maintaining Democratic control of the House of Represenrtatives, is well ahead in the money race.

Saving their funds for the last rounds of the campaign, the DCCC entered into October with more than twice the cash as its Republican counterpart, the NRCC.  The Democrats plan on spending about $40 million in TV ads and another $20 million on get out the vote (GOTV) operations in the final weeks leading to the Nov. 2 election.
