Early voting campaign hits Facebook, social media

The early voting push has really caught on judging from Facebook.  A new application called the Commit to Vote Challenge is plastering walls all over that social media site.

And the Democratic Party is actively pushing early voting too on its official site and on its social media pages.

A good move when you consider how difficult a job getting out the vote on election day is.  Even the best planned voter turnout operation can fail if, for example, rain happens to be falling on election day in the local area.  Even a drizzle can sometimes manage to depress voter participation.

So, getting votes in the bank before election day is a very sound strategy.  It makes things easier when Nov. 2 finally comes.
