Ok the numbers are in and the DNC raised nearly $11 million to the RNC's nearly $8 million in August. The DNC also ended the month with $8.7 million more in the bank than the RNC despite outspending the latter by $13.9 million to $8.6 million.
Some blogs and news sites have focused on the fundraising of shadowy conservative groups to contest whether the Democrats are really winning the fundraising race.
However, if you are going that route that you also have to consider the unions, which tend to overwhelmingly support the Democrats with a few exceptions. There are also progressive groups that support Democrats like Democracy for America, MoveOn.org, League of Conservation Voters, Sierra Club and others.
