Althouse: "I would say, 'Go, Obama, you're black enough for me.'"

Althouse: "I would say, 'Go, Obama, you're black enough for me.'"

It's not entirely clear who started the whole debate over whether Obama is black enough or not.

The media and blogs certainly have picked up this theme though.

Obama has been campaigning hard in South Carolina lately with its major black voting population, and continues to receive high level endorsements from black elected officials. Most recently, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Columbus mayor Mike Coleman and Durham mayor Bill Bell have voiced their support for Obama.

In the end, it will likely be the perception of Obama's stand on the issues rather than his color that will decide the votes of most voters, whatever their own hue.
