Barack defends calls on Grassley to override veto

Sen. Barack Obama defended his calls on Sen. Charles Grassley to override the Iraq veto after Grassely said Obama's efforts were "not Senatorial."

"This isn‘t about Washington etiquette, it‘s about bringing our troops home," said Obama. "This is how real change happens in America. This isn‘t symbolic, this is real."

"It‘s already working," said Obama, who also urged voters in Louisiana and Virginia to pressure their elected leaders. "That‘s why 11 Republican Congressmen went to the White House yesterday and demanded honesty and accountability from the president on Iraq."

Two Missouri Representatives to endorse Obama

Reps. William Lacy Clay and Russ Carnahan plan to announce their endorsements of Barack Obama today when the candidate comes to the city for two fundraisers.

"Barack Obama shares my values and he understands our community," Clay said. "His bold, positive ideas can have a real impact on closing disparities in health care, home ownership, academic achievement and equal opportunity."
