Best hope for change

Barack Obama's rally is a day away and there is a nice article "All Eyes are on Obama in Oakland's melting pot" at the Inside the Bay Area website.

There's also an interesting article in the San Jose Mercury News on how Barack Obama is defying "racial expectations."

An example of how Obama is defying such expectations might be found in this opinion piece from thenorthwestern.com based on Oshkosh, Wisconsin: Obama offers best hope for change.

From barackobama.com:

Barack's Bay Area Street Team (Organizing)

We need to let the people of San Francisco and the Bay Area know about Saturday's big event in downtown Oakland--and you are the key.

On the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday before the event we will be handing out flyers and putting up posters throughout the Bay Area.

Can you help for a couple of hours?

We will give you a route, and hand out supplies from our downtown Oakland HQ. We are staging at 8:30 (Rush Hour) 10 am, 1 pm, and 5:30 pm--please RSVP and let us know when you'll be by!

We use the buddy system--bring a friend, or we can introduce you to one. There will be granola bars, water and good times! Hope to see you there.

Questions? Call Geoffrey at the Obama hotline! 510-444-4710, ext 306.
