Oakland loves Obama

A crowd estimated at 12,000 by campaign staff crowded into the Oakland city hall plaza to hear a rousing speech by Barack Obama on Saturday.

It was a rousing testament to his drawing power to see mostly everyday people coming in the thousands this early before the election. Most politcal rallies are populated by political aides, hacks, workers, etc. on the "advice" of their boss or by party diehards. This was the real deal.
