The successful operation taking out al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has apparently boosted up President Barack Obama's approval ratings.
According the RealClearPolitics average of recent polls, Obama is now standing at 51.7% approval vs. 42.1 disapproval.
Just how long this approval bump will last is anyone's guess. Some analysts do not believe that it help voters forget about the economy for long. However, it may be a mistake to believe that Obama will suffer exclusively for a tough economy.
The public view of Republicans actions on the economy since their election victories in 2010 is not favorable.
Obama may benefit from simply having more recent tangible accomplishments than anyone from the current field of GOP opponents.
Tonight, Obama reportedly raised about $2 million during fundraisers in Texas where the president if drumming support for immigration reform.

Obama approval remains high
A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll continues to affirm that despite the sinking economy, President Barack Obama retains high popularity marks.
A record 70% are very dissatisfied with the economy, and half of all adults are unhappy with their own financial situation.
Yet apparently, people still believe Obama is doing his best in tackling the crisis.
Likely they are comparing Obama's headlong approach to the inaction of the previous administration in its waning days. If Obama continues to be the action guy that he has been so far, I would not be surprised if he continues to get high ratings. And most people realize that the depth and breadth of the economic situation is such that no one would be able to solve it quickly.
