Obama approval rating jumps after Osama bin Laden operation

The successful operation taking out al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has apparently boosted up President Barack Obama's approval ratings.

According the RealClearPolitics average of recent polls, Obama is now standing at 51.7% approval vs. 42.1 disapproval.

Just how long this approval bump will last is anyone's guess. Some analysts do not believe that it help voters forget about the economy for long. However, it may be a mistake to believe that Obama will suffer exclusively for a tough economy.

The public view of Republicans actions on the economy since their election victories in 2010 is not favorable.

Obama may benefit from simply having more recent tangible accomplishments than anyone from the current field of GOP opponents.

Tonight, Obama reportedly raised about $2 million during fundraisers in Texas where the president if drumming support for immigration reform.
