Working the Demographics

Democrats are making a lot of effort now to get certain demographic groups like minorities and young voters to the polls.

Unfortunately, there is a tendency among these groups to miss the importance of smaller elections.  Part of it could be election overload with so many choices on the ballot that people trying to make ends meet can hardly keep up with.

A number of voting guides exist that can help voters quickly decide on candidates and issues.  The Progressive Voters Guide offered by Courage Campaign lists endorsements from progressive groups like the state Democratic Party, the League of Women Voters and labor organizations.

SmartVoter is a more neutral website that allows candidates and issue committees to put up their own informational pages.
