Encouraging News from the Field and from Early Voting

OFA Director Jon Stewart spoke on MSNBC about the Democratic turnout in early voting and the enthusiasm in volunteer activity:

Democrats continue to outperform Republicans in early voting including leading in important states with lots of House seats like California, Illinois and Ohio.

Gov. Ed Rendell said that in Pennsylvania there would be major surprises on election day. Rendell said that in the last two weeks, Democrats in his state had closed the "enthusiasm gap."

Of course, election day is still very important and will account for the bulk of voting in most states.  GOTV efforts so far are going at a fast pace with groups like Organizing for America contacting massive numbers of voters.
