Poll results show anti-incumbent attitude

The best news in yesterday's elections is the victory of Democrat Mark Critz in a special election for Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district on Tuesday, Critz easily beat Republican businessman Tim Burns in a conservative district that was formerly held by Rep. John Murtha, who died in February.

Other results such as victory of Tea Party candidate Rand Paul in Kentucky over the Republican establishment candidate suggest that voters are strongly opposed to the status quo. They want change and non-traditional, non-Washington type of candidates.

Incumbents will face tough fights but this might not bode as badly for Democrats are some are saying. A lot depends on how well the Democratic activists can turn out progressive voters, especially younger voters.
