Democrats agreeing on new healthcare strategy

According to reports coming out of major news outlets, Democrats in Congress are close to agreeing on a strategy to save President Barack Obama's health care reform plan.

The new plan will make some changes to the current Senate bill using the reconciliation process to avoid a filibuster in the Senate. Only 51 votes are needed for reconciliation compared to the ordinary 60 votes to squash a filibuster. However, not everything can be pushed through using reconciliation. A law known as the Bryd Rule requires that only things that are not considered extraneous to the bill can be considered under that procedure.

Passage of health care reform would likely come as a big boost both for the administration and Democrats in general.

Let us hope that there will be some kind of reform in health care. One small step is better than status quo. The present system has proven itself being the mot expensive in the world, yet it can not give helath care to all people.

It's truly not about being republican or democrat or black or white..Oboma is clearly not the right icon for the U.S. He won by grabbing the attention of middle-class to lower class with hopes of change. now millions of people expect one person to change everything. yeah? how are we supposed to run a country when the we're making decision to better the poor who do not do much to improve themselves. How are supposed to better our country and economy when we expect people to do things for us? We all have to make sacrifices for a prominent future and we're not making them. You take things away and the only people who complain is the lower middle class and lower class. don't give them health reforms, give them more jobs. put pressure on them and they will increase their output then our country will become more efficient
