Obama announces Souter retirement from Supreme Court

President Barack Obama interrupted the daily White House Press Briefing to announce the retirement of Supreme Court Justice David Souter.

This will give Obama his first opportunity to appoint a Supreme Court justice although he will not likely change the ideological makeup of the court as Souter and Obama's pick are likely to share similar views.
