Obama orders review of NYC overflight

President Barack Obama on Tuesday said he would investigate a Dept. of Defense photo shoot of images of Air Force One flying near the Statue of Liberty.

The low-flying jet aircraft frightened many New Yorkers who thought they're city was in the midst of a 9-11-like attack.

“It will not happen again,” Obama said of the incident. The president ordered his deputy chief of staff, Jim Messina, to “conduct a review into how the decision was made to conduct the flight to understand why the decision was made and to ensure that it never happens again.”

Louis Caldera, the director of the White House Military Office, took responsibility for the flight, which cost $328,835.
