A number of media reports suggest that Van Jones has been tapped as President Obama's Green Jobs Czar.
Van Jones is a great pick for this job. He is the founding president of Green For All and a senior fellow with the Center for American Progress. He is also the author of The Green Collar Economy. He has been a leading advocate for the creation of new "green" jobs.
In his book, Jones says: "If you're going to green our cities, you should green first those communities where the buildings are the leakiest, where the poor people live in drafty old buildings. You should put solar panels up there first. You should put the community gardens where people can least afford food."
