Commenting on Obama's 'green dream team,' Kevin Knobloch, president of the Union of Concerned Scientists said: "If this team can't advance strong national policy on global warming, then no one can."
"This caliber of scientists in any administration would be a major headline. But in contrast to the eight years of the Bush administration, where political appointees ran roughshod over science at a terrible cost to the truth, they stand out even more."
Obama had pledged to spend $150 billion on green energy over 10 years, but that was before the financial crisis and his announcement of a much larger stimulus plan than originally envisioned.
