Obama opening office in Terre Haute, Indiana

WTHI-TV reports that Barack Obama is opening up an office in Terre Haute, Indiana. Obama's efforts in red states strengthens the Democratic Party for the future. You can only make progress in red states when you fight for those states.

Barack Obama will be setting up a campaign office right here in Terre Haute. Proving even more how important the Hoosier state as well as the Wabash Valley is in the 2008 Presidential Election.

"I think it's going to be an exciting time between now and May 6th in Terre Haute," said Andrew Conner.

In about one week, one of these downtown buildings will be the new home for Barack Obama's campaign office. Indiana's primary is not known for casting crucial votes, but Obama's decision to head to Valley shows Terre Haute's got something to offer.

"I think that the candidates feel like this area has something of value to them," James Mann, Terre Haute South Teacher.

"The candidates are taking notice of Terre Haute."

With several local colleges and universities, Terre Haute is a great place to target voters especially young ones.

"We've been doing tons and tons of voter registrations we've had over 200 kids register to vote."

Right now Obama campaign officials are looking at a few downtown Terre Haute properties. The office is slated to open on March 24th.
