Urgent: Ohio Irregularity Strategy.
I am a political amateur, not a strategist, but I feel it is my duty to post this in case that the author of this blog is connected to Senator Obama's campaign.
If the campaign is planning to make any irregularities in poll closing times an issue, please advice it to do so in an intelligent way. Express sadness that voters were disenfranchised, but be conciliatory. Proclaim that you will not divide the Democratic Party with lawsuit after lawsuit. The voting rules are confusing to many, and a suit in Ohio leading to a suit in Florida, Texas, or Michigan could lead to bitterness about both candidates.
Instead make it an issue that the American people cannot possibly see to Obama's detriment. Have it be his rallying call to make sure that early poll closings and lack of voting machines in urban districts do not make the difference against John McCain.
Senator Obama can say something like, "every eligible voter who lines up to exercise their voice, whether in East St. Louis or in West Hollywood, should have that vote couted."
