Barack in California, Michelle goes to Vegas

Barack Obama will attend a bevy of fundraisers in California both in the north and south of the state. Six in all since Tuesday.

Michelle Obama will meet supporters in Las Vegas on Wednesday at the kickoff event for "Nevada Women for Obama" at the Cambridge Recreation Center.

Across the country, Boston City Councilor Michael Flaherty announced his endorsement of Obama yesterday.

Obama had long-term White House goal

A story published yesterday in the Chicago Tribune indicates that Barack and his staff prepared a careful long-term plan for a presidential bid in 2012 or 2016 that included a possible stint as Illinois governor.

However, advisers like Sen. Dick Durbin and swelling grassroots support that he encountered while promoting his book "The Audacity of Hope" convinced him that 2008 was a golden opportunity not to be missed.
