Obama reveals plan to help homeless veterans

Senator Barack Obama unveiled a plan to keep veterans from having to live on the streets after returning to civilian life.

"Veterans are far more likely to be homeless than non-veterans and part of it is because we're not providing services to them as they transition out of the service," Obama said before a campaign rally. "Part of it is because there is just not enough affordable housing."

Obama's plan would establish grants and vouchers for those who build affordable housing for veterans.

The Veteran's Administration estimates there may be 200,000 homeless veterans with twice that number being homeless throughout the course of the year.

Money talks

Proof that money talks might be found in Mitt Romney leapfrogging to a tie for first place in New Hampshire with John McCain.

In the Obama campaign, nearly $500,000 was raised online the day after announcing the impressive $25 million haul for the first quarter. Money attracts money.
