Barack pulls in more big money backers

While Barack Obama's decision to run was fueled mostly by grassroots supporters including students, his broad support has encouraged many deep pockets to rally behind him.

Today news came of four more high-powered entrepeneurs that will raise funds for Obama for America.

Commodity trading billionaire Paul Tudor Jones II and former NY Knick Allan Houston will host fundraisers for Obama in Greenwich. Jones apparently was influenced by George Soros another hedge fund tycoon. Interestingly Jones has also helped Rudy Giuliani this election cycle.

Netroots to witness first online presidential debate

Yahoo, Slate and HuffingtonPost.com will host the first host the first digital debate in the fall to be mediated by Charlie Rose of PBS.

"With presidential candidates (making announcements) online and with campaign ads and fund-raising increasingly online, presidential campaigns are moving to the Internet at breakneck speed," Arianna Huffington, co-founder of The Huffington Post, said in a statement.

The debates are scheduled to be held after Labor Day, on Yahoo Elections, The Huffington Post and Slate.

On January 1 and 2, MySpace will hold a mock election of candidates who maintain MySpace profiles.
