North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad backs Obama

Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota endorsed Barack Obama today.

“I’ve worked with all of the presidential candidates, both those who have served in the Senate and those who are in other positions, including Gov. (Bill) Richardson, whom I have enormous respect for,” Conrad said. “What draws me to Sen Obama and his candidacy is the ability he has shown to bring people together, to unite people around a common cause. And I think that’s so needed right now. He also has the ability to lift people, to inspire them."
