Obama picks Pete Rouse for new chief of staff

President Barack Obama has tapped longtime aide Pete Rouse to become his new Chief of Staff now that Rahm Emanuel has announced he will be running in the Chicago mayor's race.

Rouse will be the first Asian American to serve as a presidential chief of staff. He is part white and part Japanese. Obama has many API staff members including his former Harvard college buddy Chris Lu and economist Sonal Shah.
