Obama slams Republicans for blocking tactics

President Barack Obama complained today about the resistance made by Republicans on just about everything his administration is trying to accomplish.  Already, the Republicans have far surpassed the previous record on filibusters in their attempts to obstruct the president.

The economy and the jobs situation is obviously very much on the mind of Obama.  Today there was a report that the administration is still approving bad oil drilling plans, which is very unfortunate.  However, he is under a lot of economic and political pressure.

Senators and representatives from oil-producing states are balking on his energy and climate change plan.

At the end of the year, the Bush tax cuts will expire and this will give the government more revenues to stimulate the economy.  Obama has talked about ending subsidies for oil and gas companies.  Again this will bring resistance but also potentially billions in new revenues that can be used to offset any problems caused by climate change legislation.
