Republicans on warpath against Sotomayor?

One would think that the Republican Party would not choose to go after Obama nominee Sonia Sotomayor.

The party has been in disarray as of late and things do not look that good for the upcoming 2010 elections were they appear headed for more losses in Congress and in state elections.

Why go and anger Latino and women voters by hassling Sotomayor? It's not like they're going to force Obama into nominating an ole time conservative to replace Justice David Souter.

But then again the Republicans have a party without effective leadership. Rush Limbaugh seems to be the main person at the helm right now. There is an ideological war going on in which we see moderates like Gen. Colin Powell getting dissed by former Vice President Dick Cheney. Many conservatives want "liberal" members of the party to leave.

So it just may be that they will follow the lead of agitators like Limbaugh into battle against Sotomayor.
