Obama: First sitting president to appear on Tonight Show

Barack Obama will become the first sitting president to appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Thursday night.

Obama is in California for two days to promote his budget proposal to Congress. Obama will discuss the economic situation on The Tonight Show, which averages five million viewers a night.

The president also appeared on ESPN where he said he was backing the North Carolina Tarheels in the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament.
