Obama Inauguration may be very special

It may be an American presidential inauguration unlike any since the dawn of mass media. President-elect Barack Obama of course is the first African American to ascend to the highest office in the country.

However, there are also many other factors that could make this inauguration special. Few incoming presidents, maybe none, have been so loved overseas as Barack Obama. While Obama may face challenges unlike any since FDR, he also has as much goodwill in many corners as any other president.

Young people love Obama. Not just young voters, but little kids. I became acutely aware of this when my four-year-old nephew shouted "Obama" upon seeing the president-elect on the evening news. And there were many pre-voting age kids who got actively involved in supporting Obama during the campaign.

The president-elect has also been called "Hollywood's President," due to his strong support in the entertainment community. It will be interesting to see if Hollywood pulls out the stops for Obama during his inauguration.

News reports indicate that a record 60,000 people have volunteered to work at various inauguration events.
