H.O.P.E Inaugural Youth Ball

Jermaine Crawford from HBO's "The Wire" is organizing the H.O.P.E. Inaugural Youth Ball in Washington DC on Jan. 17 at Trinity College.

Proceeds from the ball will go to Nation Network for Youth (NN4y), an organization that helps homeless teens.

The National Network is committed to ensuring that opportunities for growth and development be available to youth everywhere. The youth we work with face greater odds due to abuse and neglect, homelessness, lack of resources, community prejudice, differing abilities and other life challenges. For that reason, we are working to create a community of agencies, people and resources to champion the needs of the youth of today and the leaders of tomorrow.

The group organizing the event also has hotel rooms in Gaithersburg, Maryland not far from DC as lodging is hard to come by at this time.

According to Jermaine, there will be some very "special" guests at the ball.
