Barack Obama picks up four superdelegates

Barack Obama added four more superdelegates today reducing the number of delegates he needs to win the nomination to 58.

Congressman Dennis Cardoza of California, a former Clinton supporter, announced his support for Obama today: “While I continue to greatly respect and admire Senator Clinton and feel she has made history with her campaign, I believe that Senator Obama will inevitably be our party’s nominee for President. He has proven himself to be a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and inspirational leader and will take America in a new direction, which we desperately need."

Obama's campaign also announced the endorsement of California congressman, Jim Costa.

Two former supporters of John Edwards from New Hampshire, State Senator Peter Burling of Cornish and Deborah Nelson of Hanover, plan to announce their switch to Obama at a news conference this morning, the Associated Press reported.
