Barack Obama off to Alabama for kickoff

Barack Obama will attend a rally and grassroots fundraiser in downtown Birmingham on Monday to kickoff his campaign in Alabama.

U.S. Rep. Artur Davis, D-Ala., is helping to organize the event amed at college students and young people who will pay $25 to attend. Davis' spokesman, Corey Ealons said between 1,500 and 2,000 people are expected to attend.

Obama will also attend a cocktail reception organized by HealthSouth CEO Jay Grinney with tickets at $2,300 a person, and a $1,000 a person luncheon at the Heritage Club in Huntsville.
