Obama gains ground in Hillary country

Harlem State Senator Bill Perkins became the first major elected Clinton supporter in New York to break ranks and endorse Senator Barack Obama.

"I think that his message of hope and opportunity is the right message. ... There's no question that folks in New York - and throughout the country - are looking for a change from the way things are being done," said Perkins.

Other NY elected officials have banded together to explore the possibility of endorsing Obama.

Barack makes Time's most influential

Obama was selected as one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people. Hillary Clinton also made the list, but Barack got better coverage on the magazine cover:
