Speaking before the annual convention of state Democrats in California, Barack Obama said he would "turn the page" on the Iraq War.
News reports indicate Barack received a much more enthusiastic response than Hillary Clintion, who was however also greeted warmly. Four years ago, Howard Dean was wildly received by California's left-leaning activists at the convention, while John Kerry was jeered while defending his vote for the Iraq War. However, Kerry went on to win the nomination.
Things are a bit different now though. There is nary a Democrat supporting the war these days. Howard Dean is the leader of national Democratic party. Obama can certainly use the California enthusiasm in raising funds for the early states and for Super(duper) Tuesday. Obama will be holding fundraisers while in the state.
