Obama addresses students at start of school year
President Barack Obama helped kick off the school year with a message to students across the nation. The broadcast message had caused controversy among some conservatives who claimed the president was trying to politically influence young minds. Obama spoke to a student audience at a high school gymnasium in a Washington suburb.
